Another thing I’m a fan of - Spotify is downloading songs in the background. I don’t have to set up my phone’s display to never turn off to sync everything I want to offline.

I know I’m very screen focused but this is the thing I interact with most when using a phone.

What pisses me off now is that this phone costs like $250. And it has 120hz, always on display. And go have it on iPhone you have to get the pro.

A long time ago it was a known fact that iPhone is the best device to use with Google apps. And now I must say it just makes sense to get into android if you’re into Google services. Google Maps integration is just better here that it could be in iPhone (thanks Apple Maps). And there are multiple instances of things like that. Im not instantly becoming an Android user or a big fan but this journey will be even more interesting that I anticipated.

120hz is awesome. And this phone costs less than my current iPhone 14! Coming back to iPhone even for a second just feels bad now. That was quick.

My main SIM card is on Pixel 8a. I’ve moved my signal account and WhatsApp account there as well. I’m not getting rid of the iPhone because I want to sync my Apple Watch (that was just degraded to be a fitness watch) but I’m giving it a real shot.

And after my first day - well, half of it - I must say things are going great. It just works. Like a phone. With apps. Couple hiccups here and there but nothing that wouldn’t be solved quickly.

Long time no see Mr Android.

Bought a sofa today, feeling like an adult.

In my defence - I was as JUST below my comfort level for a device I wanted to toy with for a very long time. Let’s see how it goes!

Ups.

My Ivory subscription ended and I’ve switched to Ice Cubes. Honestly, not a very big difference which I think is a great thing for Ice Cubes. Also I can see that Ivory is a Tweetbot morphed into Mastodon client because Ice Cubes have more Mastodon-related features.

I’d love to buy an iPod, mod it to have 1TB of storage, and listen to music from it instead of paying for Spotify or Apple Music. However, the challenge of downloading, buying, and even finding the songs I love is making this very difficult to do.

I want to have ChatGPT integration in most of the things unfortunately. Because, honestly, it works for me

For 29zl (around €6) I’m getting now 120GB of 5G data. I love how cheap internet is in Poland.

Saw wallpapers from MKBHD app - honestly it I’d pay for it I’d be furious.

Linux, Vim, Omakub and on being vendor agnostic | Eddie Dale:

The other aspect that appealed to me from Omakub, was the "us agains the mega corporations" mindset. Whether it's Microsoft, Apple, Google or Amazon. I keep feeling this urge. An urge to move towards more open standards. I have a Kindle, but my next e-reader probably won't be from Amazon. I have an iPhone, but I'm not sure the next phone will be from Apple.

This is exactly where I’m at!
