It’s important for all of you to meet this gentleman.
Some time ago, we purchased some random spotlights for our living room, which already had spotlights installed. However, since they had the exact light color and power, we didn’t end up using them much. Recently, I decided to buy an empty shell and installed an IKEA Tradfri light inside, connecting it to our smart home system. To cut a long story short, it works perfectly, and I’m now ordering three more of them. Finally, we have spotlights with the ability to change the light. Even just one of them provides enough ambient light to make us fall in love with it.
I believe I have captured some of my best photos with my Canon camera simply because of its pocketable size. However, every time I pick up my so-called “big camera” (the A6000, which isn’t actually that big), I instantly realize what I miss with the Canon. The picture quality, depth of field, and the freedom to use different lenses instead of being limited to the Canon’s zoom lens (it’s good, but you can’t beat going below f/1.8).
In the upcoming weeks, as I go on vacation, I am planning to bring both of these cameras with me, along with my analog cameras. I am gonna capture photos as if there’s no tomorrow.
My phone spends 99% of the time in Apple Leather Case and somehow I still managed to scratch it quite deeply. That sucks.
Another year of micro.blog has been paid. Too happy with it to find an alternative (is there even an alternative that isn’t Wordpress that I hate with power of thousand suns?).
Happy with Stage Manager. It me.
Google is seriously testing my resistance when it comes to the Google Pixel phone. Today, I discovered that the Pixel 7a is on sale in Spain with a whopping 33% discount. Now, I already have a phone, an iOS phone to be exact, and I’m deeply invested in the iOS ecosystem. But despite all that, the temptation to switch is real.
Today, I stumbled upon a comment claiming that socialism destroyed families and suggesting that we should encourage people to have more children while getting rid of socialist policies. I was so close to venting my thoughts by creating an account, but then I snapped back to reality and reminded myself that arguing with random strangers on the internet is simply not worth it.
If I were to unleash my rant, it would go something like this: “I’m not having kids because of the current right-wing climate. If you want to understand where I’m coming from, go ahead and ask me questions.”
But hey, let’s face it, it’s the internet we’re talking about here. Arguing with some random person in the comments section is about as useful as shouting into the void.
I’ve found out about Tailscale. WTF, why I’m so late to this?
I’m doing actually good with my Day One usage. I said I’m gonna journal and I’m doing it most of the days!
Deleted Instagram and Threads from my phone a couple of days ago and I find myself going to Mastodon/RSS a bit more. It’s actually a welcome change!
Jack Baty | Skipping the good parts:
Hell, I skip past a lot of the set pieces, too. I suppose that in my old age, I'm less interested in the "action" portion of action movies.
You don’t have to be “old”. My wife & I are doing the same. Fighting is just booring.
I think micro.publish would be a welcome addition to people using Obsidian and micro.blog. So just to share it out there - do yourself a favour and check it out.
I’m really tempted to get the Pixel 8 Pro and see if Android could better suit my workflow compared to iOS.
However, there are a few things I’ll miss. I’ll definitely miss find my (we have lots of these trackers), and my entire home setup will need to be moved to homeassistant or a similar app (Google Home?). I’ll also miss my Apple Watch and magsafe accessories.
When I think about the size and potential difficulties of the change, I’m not entirely sure if I want to go through with it.
All I initially wanted was to see if I could break free from iOS restrictions and explore the world of Android. Talk about a walled garden!
I’ve made change to email system for wspanialy.eu and forum.yeswas.pl. Hope nobody will notice any difference and I can save a couple bucks every month.
Pad Thai. Very nice.
Quick story in two pictures about my iPad usage. I wish I would be able to use it more but there’s not enough space for me to put all of my apps on it. Also I’m not sure if I’m iPad person and most of the time I’m using it as life counter for MTG. And when not used as life counter it stays in the kitchen so I can read food recipes easily. I think I’d enjoy using iPad mini and one day I’m gonna definitely try!
I know, it might be wishful thinking, but there’s no doubt that we’re seeing a resurgence for blogging. It’s to be expected, given that the biggest hit to blogging was Twitter.Source: 2024 is the Year of the Blog
This is exactly what I feel. My RSS reader is FULL of blogs that are active DAILY. This is great, honestly I have vibes from early 2000 and I’m here for that.
I was searching for an app to calculate my stock gains/losses and came across Sharesight, which seems to be exactly what I need. I imported all my data from XTB and calculated my gains, factoring in currency fluctuations. If anyone knows of a better tool, please let me know!
Just updated my defaults. Whenever I make changes to my setup that stick, I also update the post.
OMG, I think I’ve finally found in what way Instagram is making me miserable! Looking at all of these beautiful interiors in cities I’ll never live is THAT THING! Good reason to cut it out my life I guess.
In 2023 I’ve posted on my blog 684 times. That’s pretty fire number I’d say.
Microsoft Edge is better Chrome than Chrome is.
My tabs situation, most of the time. Hi there, 2024! Looking good.
It was a really pleasant new year’s eve party! Ready to fall asleep since it’s 4am.
If you need a co-host hit me up. Just joking! Please leave me alone 😂
