I see myself turning my phone notifications off more and more. I like when my phone is dead silent and I can check it when I want to. Also, double notifications (one on my pc, one on my phone) are so fucking annoying.
Dear old me, let’s just say that a couple of things has changed.
Just did it: github.com/Olsro/ipo… I now have (nearly) all of the old iPod games on my iPod!
Also, Android stuck. I’m good. Like - seriously - everything works great. No issues (other than battery, but that’s fixable with either a power bank or - later on - getting a slightly better phone). I’m very curious about these new, Chinese phones with 7000/8000 mAh batteries. This …
I reinstalled Windows like I said a couple of days ago but didn’t have a chance to actually configure it for a week, so I’m on Mac for my second week, and honestly, it’s so refreshing. Not sure if I would change my decision in the past from this tower PC to some kind of Mac Mini. …
BTW. So I’m definitely not gonna go out of Pixel lineup when being on Android. I know Samsung’s and Honor’s phones are very interesting and very good, but Pixel experience is just out of this world and the only one that just isn’t ugly. I’m obviously gonna rock that 8a …
I blogged more on a Mac because of Mars Edit. Just sayin.
I need more Android-focused people in my timeline. If you post about Android or know someone who does either on a blog on a microblog - lemme know. Thanks!
Before fully going back to Windows I’m gonna try with Windows VMs. Just to check if this is the life I wanna live.
Yeah, Linux ain’t it. I mean - it’s great, it’s fast, it’s very private and I’m all for it. But most of my work apps (and most importantly - my todo app Akiflow) aren’t available on Linux yet, so I have to cave in and go with Windows. Again.
TIL: Foobar is available on MacOS.
Google’s Material 3 makes me excited of being an Android user.
Modded my 5th gen with a 2000mAh battery. This is crazy.
pl.nothing.tech/pages/cmf… Instant recommendation for anyone looking for a cheap Android phone.
This step by step approach though will make me use MacOS more until I’m fully happy with whatever I’m having on Ubuntu right now. Follow along my fucked up journey!
I was this close to jump Windows already but I know I’m gonna be annoyed in exactly the same ways as always, so with help of ChatGPT I’m trying to fix all of the Ubuntu issues I’m encountering and so far it’s all being fixed. Step by step!
It’s not because pewdiepie told me to but it is because he told me to.
Just to convince myself to USE Linux, I’m installing it over Windows. Worst case scenario I’m gonna get my mac out and work on a mac, but I’m actually trying to DO IT.
These are so fucking weird and I love them. Nothing has fully converted me to their headphones. Next one is a phone I guess!
I would love to pull the trigger but I can’t. I have a pretty nice 8a that will last me a long time. I also want to upgrade to something with these new batteries and Qi2 charging. I have time. I will wait patiently until google or Samsung does it.
I think I’m ready to check out this proper, big Android devices like S25 Ultra. Also I’ve changed my homescreen and I’m going harder on widgets. These are much better here than they were on iOS.
www.macstories.net/news/alts… Laughing in android now
Thinking of merging Mastodon server and Discourse server in one. Also putting it on much more capable machine just to make sure there’s enough space to grow them. Looks like a weekend project?
Exactly as our lord and saviour would want me to. Offline, FLAC, in foobar.
I didn’t even notice a moment in which I’ve fully switched to android. I was using iP 14 plus and the only negative side effect of the switch is battery life. Obviously the smaller device has worse battery life but let’s be honest - most of the time I’m at home. And when …

Standing desk is the shit.
If you like SP500 you can buy it now for the same price as a year ago! This is not a financial advice.
My wifey iPhone (11 Pro) finally has died. The battery depleted for the second time (it had been already replaced once) so I gave her my 14 Plus because I’ve moved to Android full time. But because I need iPhone ~for work~ - I dig up the old SE from 2020 and moved onto that. BIG CHANGES as you …
Living that iPod life.
I’m gonna selfhost email and nobody can stop me.
I’m on Android so hard now that my iphone is turned off and put in the drawer. 🤙
Spatial audio is very good and I like it.
I’m expecting iTunes to work flawlessly after 20 years with no updates and let’s be honest - it didn’t work even 20 years ago. Rockbox is going to be installed on the iPod. Ain’t nobody got time for iTunes.

Listening to music on iPod is just a vibe.
Just ordered microSD adapter for the iPod, 2x 128GB microSD and 3000mAh battery. In about three weeks this is going to be an ultimate unit.
I’m a fan now
Welp
I might have bought an iPod Classic and have it delivered on Monday most probably.
So for about $1000, my next laptop would be a Thinkpad with 128GB of RAM and a 4TB SSD? Is this the real world or just a fantasy?
The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans Holy fuck, I’m not even sure what to say at this point. Also, fuck them for plotting against Europe. This is why me and lots and lots of people in my circle are going European-first. Wifey and I are doing our part on it - whenever …
Not sure how it happened, but it happened, and suddenly I’ve got 7TB of HDD/SSD storage connected to my PC.
I like how Android works in terms of theming. I’ve changed my wallpapers and now even UI accent colours are changed to match the vibe.
I’m a simple man. I see Pebble. I buy Pebble.
First day of my month-long vacations are going pretty fine - I’m thinking about hosting a YunoHost.
100% sleep performance. 😎
Say what
I can so I do jump between phones. You can’t catch me. One day I’m androiding, next time I’m on iPhone with iMessages turned on. Never let them know your next move.
The more I use the cheapest Pixel available with Gemini on it, the more amazed I am at how terrible Siri is. Holy shitballs. It’s seriously sad.
I love that Android lets me snooze notifications for an hour.
I’d love to read more blogs about people trying to escape Apple’s hell.
Damn you Balatro. Sole reason of my current sleep schedule being fucked up.
Longest sleep of the last 30 days! Bad luck Brian - still in the red recovery.
Deleted tiktok, Instagram and reddit from my phones. Again. I think this is the moment in which my mental health needs them to be unreachable.
Pixel 8a is amazing.
Day One on Windows. Finally.
I also love when Apple influencers are screaming about how Apple behaves badly but ask them if they would make a change and then suddenly there’s this one very, very critical workflow that they wouldn’t be able to reproduce on other OS. But if only!
Lee and Jason made some good points regarding change. And Lee said: I’ve gotten to the point where I’m less and less interested in listening to those that on one hand say Apple etc are gross then go out and buy the next thing they release. Even though he didn’t say it, I immediately thought …
I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one trying to escape the Apple ecosystem.
iPhone 16e without MagSafe - bummer. Not that I was interested in it, but I thought they would be adding it to every product. And it looks like the 16e has even worse wireless charging capabilities than my own 14 Plus.
Interesting things that are happening in our household are talks about how we should probably switch from being an Apple-mostly household to being more open. And interestingly, I’m not the one that has the strongest opinions here. My wife has even started thinking about the Nothing Phone …
421 days of adding something new to Day One, 223 days of tracking calories in Lose It, 2010 days of playing Torn. You might say I like routines.
Maybe related to my previous post but maybe not - I’m moving off Google and Apple Photos onto Ente. If you want to, you can use my Referral Code - NMWZUZ and get another 10GB for free.
I’m getting older, and I don’t care as much about open source and such. But at the same time, the older I get, the more concerned I become about being screwed over by another proprietary software changing its rules or something similar, forcing me to find an alternative to whatever I was …
Material You or whatever it is called on Android is much better than whatever iOS is doing. But that’s like my opinion.
Now I get why people with their own flats are so resistant to even considering renting a flat in the future.
I’m much closer to getting rid of all of my social media than I was ever before
Main sim is in Pixel, again. But this time I just demoted iphone to secondary phone. Not much changes but SIM card.
Only thing I need my iPhone is whoop journal every morning. Android doesn’t let Whoop take all the nutrition data and iOS does. I love that I can jump between iOS and Android now.
Support small web, support independent social media, own your content. These are going to be more and more important. Just don’t let billionaires own your things again, we know what happens when they do.
Magicking hard.
The less I use social media the better I feel and I didn’t think it was something that would affect me. Happy, in my lane, nourished.
That was quick. USA dropping out from Paris Agreement, WHO and bringing back death penalty. If you voted Trump, you deserve everything that’s going to happen now.
Trying to move to Actual Budget from YNAB (YNAB renewal date is in like two weeks). Any good apps for IOS or Android? Any tips for someone coming from YNAB?
Whenever I use Pixel 8a (I do it everyday) I’m amazed how great this device feels. And then I remember it costs like 30% of what the iPhone costs. Still. Everyday after three months.
I need to take camera out with me more. Either my film Canon or the digital one. I have never regretted having a photo.
I know how privileged this is, but I can’t wait to finish the apartment so I can finally be in a place we designed with love and care, filled with things that are dear to us. Each piece of furniture, lighting, and even the paintings or art pieces were chosen by us because we care about such …
Another League of Pigs episode and another shoutout to the pigs connoisseur.
It’s growing on me. Not sure what watch would be next. From the first one to second one was a month, I think I’m gonna wait more than that now (fingers crossed cause I know myself).
… new watch, who dis? Casio Duro. Wanted to see if I’d like something heavier and bigger on my wrist. Love this green colour and now I have two different watches to pick from!

Found myself new obsession - Pale Jay. Just listen to him. He’s out of this world.
Funny thing about Nothing Ear A is that even though they have very similar form factor to AirPods Pro - they stay in my ears and are much more comfortable. Price being 1/3 of Pro’s is another pro (no pun intended).
The case with two phones is that when one of them dies there’s still another one with some battery left.
Nothing Ear A, actually great headphones. Five stars.
Can’t lie - it does feel amazing that I do have everything I’d love to listen to on this unbelievably small device. This isn’t the iPod I was taking about previously. This one has shitty battery and only 16GB of storage and I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on refurbished iPod Classic with …
I really want and I probably shouldn’t buy an iPod. This story definitely will continue.
I’m on fire.
Something I found out about and loved ever since - you can get really cheap domains if you buy .ovh domains on OVH or six~ number dot xyz on Cloudflare. Honestly, they’re like $3 a year and now I own too many of them.
The EU wants Apple to open AirDrop and AirPlay to Android and other platforms Looks like another great feature will be made better thanks to EU!
Halfway there.
Soon it’s going to be two weeks without Vivaldi Sync…
Big, proper games won’t come to macOS as long as storage on Macs remains so prohibitively expensive. You can’t reasonably consider buying a game that takes up 50% or more of your disk space.
Vivaldi sync stopped working a week ago and it’s taking ages to be fixed. At this point I’m thinking of getting to Chrome again…
End of the year on iOS homescreen:
Ending 2024 homescreen-wise:
Just ordered new iPod Nano 7 Gen battery. Let’s fucking try it.

Instead of buying an iPod I should just get mp3 of whatever is missing on Apple Music, put it onto the iPhone and save about $100. I know this is the way to go but it FEELS wrong because I could get a new toy that I’ve always wanted that I will ditch after two weeks (days even probably).
I’ve had about four Windows updates in the span of three days. Each one, of course, requires a reboot. So now, instead of letting it update my PC, I’ve postponed every single update for five weeks just so it finally lets me use the PC without being in a constant state of rebooting. This has never …
That’s a lamp.
Honestly it’s a gimmick but when it works and is useful, it’s crazy good.
The biggest tech revelation for me this year is that I don’t have to rely on Apple that much. I’ve embraced the open waters. I haven’t moved to Android completely (yet?), but I’m a bit of a “two-phones” type of guy now. I dropped the Apple Watch and went with a Whoop + normal watch combo. Apart from …
Wait, so with 18.2 I’m not getting ChatGPT powered Siri on older devices? What?
New watch who this.
Took me five years to draw a dick with my weight data.
One day I might even accept being a two phone person.
Never change iOS widgets. Never change.
I wish new hobbies wouldn’t cost about $100 to start. I’m looking at used iPods and some of them are very cheap but need some tinkering…
Leaving Apple Watch behind will be problematic for sure, but holy shit I will not miss my wrist vibrating whenever there’s a notification from an app that I forgot to turn off on the AW. Too old to being easily bothered with access to myself.
Made up my mind. Just paid for a year of Whoop (thanks to Cyber Monday discount I saved about €60) and bought a normal, regular watch. Now I’m gonna be able to track all of my activity, be less dependent on Apple ecosystem and finally rock a watch that could work for my entire life. I’d say that’s a …
I don’t want to but I have to admit - Windows is as buggy/crashy as it was advertised on reddit and such. My MacBook’s uptime is like 7 days and that’s because I updated it a week ago. I’m feeling happy when my Windows machine works a couple days without crash.
Frank Ocean.
I don’t get why Apple Watch doesn’t do the same shit Whoop is doing. They have the same data, but Whoop is like thousand times more helpful. I tries to understand my patterns and gives me actionable advices that - seems like are good. Damn you Apple because I wanted to return that Whoop and I’m not …
Back to my regular tech rambling. Whoop would be much more useful if it could vibrate on call.
I’m not able to actually say anything, speechless.
I can’t thank anyone enough for helping out. Seriously. Thank you.
My mother has liver cancer. We have started a fundraiser to help cover some of the treatment costs. I would be grateful for any shares or donations. Support the fundraiser here.
Sorry, not sorry—another iOS vs. Android thing. Basically, because I’ve changed my lifestyle over the past year—losing a lot of weight, gaining muscle, and going to the gym regularly—I find myself using my Apple Watch much more than I did, say, two years ago. I’ve been testing Whoop, and it’s really …
This is never going to be not funny. Apple Music works great on Android but on the iPhone is just freaking slow.
Because I can, I’m sometimes moving between iPhone and Pixel. Most of the time it’s pixel but there are moments in which I find myself wanting to use iPhone (mostly because of Apple Watch and ability to be notified on my wrist when something REALLY IMPORTANT happens or because our …

Moved to iPhone yesterday but got annoyed in first 12 hours and I’m back on Pixel. Welp.

It looks like after stopping podcasting I have stopped caring about technology that much. Or I needed a break from it and I’m still on it. Most of the days I don’t even use my PC after work. Love this character development!

Android apps are good enough that I don’t miss any particular app. Even if the iOS app was better, the Android version of it (either because there’s the same app for Android or there’s a different app that does the same thing) is most of the time good enough to not care because it …

Two weeks with my Pixel. That was quick! Still is my main phone.
Since I have moved onto the Pixel I find myself using Gemini a lot. I do it a couple times a day and my questions are mostly about small things. Yesterday I asked what the hell is baba ganoush, today I have asked what does “habibi” actually mean. We were picking new heaters and I …
After a week I’ve got used to the bigger border or fingerprint scanner (I found out that using a bit more force on it actually improved my finger readability). The only thing that right now is frustrating is the slow charging speed. Everything else is fine.

Just to add to the point of iPhone feeling more expensive/premium and 8a feeling cheaper - I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, because I feel safer and have to be less careful with Pixel. I love glass, don’t get me wrong, but iPhone with case feels chunky and without one - very …
Few random thoughts about iOS vs Android: I like Apple Pay experience more, the assistant on Android (the normal, non-Gemini) is so much better than Siri, I still have to keep around an iPhone because of smart home (thermostats are HomeKit only) - at least until we move in the new flat, I love …
First time getting an update on Android day 0.
iOS notification system is like 0.1 version of what Android has. Seriously. I’m SNOOZING one notification to come back and notify me in an hour. SNOOZING.
I feel a bit more understood by this phone. It does interesting things and is very helpful with the assistants.
If this is what Pixel 8a does I want to see what 9 Pro can do.
I can admit that app quality is sometimes a bit worse on Android but web experience is so much better.
This phone makes sense for me even just for the camera. I’d love to get a Pro model or even just a normal one to get it even better with even better screen and then I’d just have to figure it out on Android because I love whatever it does with pictures.
I did some nighttime photography with Pixel today and it’s just amazingly good. Much much better than my iPhone. And whatever the camera did in postprocessing - would be something I’d add if it was missing. Seriously. Amazing.
This is where I’m at.
I’ve just lost a 3000 words essay about Android notifications because - against my better judgement - I’ve drafted it in the browser window instead of an app and - by mistake - clicked CTRL+R.
I’ve made a note that’s basically a to-do list before fully switching to the Pixel. There are a couple of cards that don’t work in Google Pay (I have to activate them before adding to Google Pay, interestingly—I didn’t have to do this on the iPhone). Also, because we’re …
Another thing I’m a fan of - Spotify is downloading songs in the background. I don’t have to set up my phone’s display to never turn off to sync everything I want to offline.
I know I’m very screen focused but this is the thing I interact with most when using a phone.
What pisses me off now is that this phone costs like $250. And it has 120hz, always on display. And go have it on iPhone you have to get the pro.
A long time ago it was a known fact that iPhone is the best device to use with Google apps. And now I must say it just makes sense to get into android if you’re into Google services. Google Maps integration is just better here that it could be in iPhone (thanks Apple Maps). And there are …

I’d love to buy an iPod, mod it to have 1TB of storage, and listen to music from it instead of paying for Spotify or Apple Music. However, the challenge of downloading, buying, and even finding the songs I love is making this very difficult to do.

When I start to think about all of this, I wonder: do I trust Apple? Google? Microsoft? Anyone? As I delve deeper into this rabbit hole, I consider installing Linux on my PC, moving “off-grid” in terms of FAANG services, and self-hosting everything. Then I think about the sheer effort …

Making Vivaldi look like I want (like Chrome lol) is hard and some of my chrome extensions aren’t working. Brave it is. That was a quick one.
Trying out Vivaldi. I like Brave, dislike their attention to crypto.
Two years ago. All good, even perfect 🎉
Suddenly Brave and Vivaldi on my PC are breaking up websites. CSS just goes wonky. I wonder if/when that would be fixed (the websites are working perfectly fine on either Firefox or Google Chrome).

Update - I got my iPhone case on. Had to do some real work on it so it was in a tool mode.
Look ma! Tomatoes!🍅
Sometimes I put my phone in a case (it’s 99% of the time the dbrand grip case because it’s just too good and too grippy not to use it) and my phone usage changes. When it’s in the case it feels more like a tool, but when I take it out of the case it’s just a nicely designed object. I fidget with …
It feels funny to have HomeAssistant set up and ready for a new flat… without actually having done ANYTHING in that flat. But I’m gonna be ready when the time comes!
That’s the issue with PC’s that can’t be moved easily - it’s too hot for me to sit in the office and I had to move out to the living room (because it has AC) and now I’m on my old (M1) Mac. Also - this Mac works perfectly fine but get’s hot when under heavy load. …

At this point it feels weird to not start a Saturday this way.

I have to connect this blog with DayOne. I’d like to have my posts backed up there.

🍿 Challengers (2024) - ★★★★☆
If I ever have to ditch Arc, I’ll move to Brave because it’s the only browser that works exactly as I expect. Chrome isn’t it, Firefox doesn’t always work (and the iOS app is really bad), and Vivaldi is just too much to make it like Brave or Chrome. This is where I’m …

The only thing that is really missing from CMF Phone 1 is NFC. Other than that - I could manage. This price is unbeatable.
Just make it available and I’m gonna get one. For science, of course.
Hey Apple Computers please update iPad mini cause I want it, thanks.
Because of how time and plans work I might be able to do something with that social.ovh domain in about two weeks but I already can’t wait!
social.ovh was free so I bought it
Thinking about spinning up another Mastodon instance (just cause I like it!) and bought a great domain for it - atweb.blog. I mean - it definitely FEELS cool.
If you’re a media outlet and you’re not hosting your own social media instance (whatever it could be - Mastodon, Pixelfed, anything that federates) you’re doing it wrong. I personally refuse to use content services hosted by 3rd party (or for free) because I don’t want them …
I would use Google Gemini Pro more if they had a proper iOS app.
The design of our next apartment isn’t about being meticulously planned, but I can share a playlist with you that will perfectly capture the atmosphere we want. Each song will embody the exact vibe of our future home.
People who drink Caffeine-Free, Diet Coke: Why? What are you getting out of it at that point? I just like the taste and it’s not making me unable to sleep at night. Also cola with sugar tastes bad.

Apple Music works better on Windows than it works on my Mac. I’m wondering why - is it because I’ve got 4x RAM on Windows? Better CPU? Whatever it is I hope some day Apple Music on Mac will look and work as fast as Spotify does.
I want my blog to have an app because I’ve grown accustomed to quickly sending tweets in the last decade. Currently, I have CMD+CTRL+OPTION+T set as a shortcut to open Mars Edit’s new microblog window. Whatever comes has to be as good as this is.

Hello and welcome to “What’s in your dock!”. Today’s dock:
I’ve got no Facebook, Instagram, now TikTok is out. What I’m gonna do when I pick my phone up out of habit? RSS? Getting old.
Deleted TikTok off my phone (again). This shit is soooo addictive.
Twitter made me more of a microblogger than blogger and it shows.
This time I’m gonna catch them all.

I’d love to use Arc on Windows but then I’m using Chrome on Windows (for work) and it works like thousand times faster and then I don’t want to use Arc anymore. I wish they would make Arc suck less.
If you think that Apple has sherlocked 1Password you have - clearly - not used 1Password enough.

To use Siri that’s not dumb you have to spend at least $1000 because it’s not dumb only on iPhone 15 Pro. Holy shit, it works nicely but making it work only on the most expensive phone is shitty even for them.

After a month of going to the gym I can finally see some nice changes in our bodies. Main one is that I’m not in pain anymore and I have more energy, but also I can see that my arms and legs got a bit… bigger? Anyway, love it, love the progress, gym is here to stay apparently!
I’m just a little bit tired, good tired but tired nonetheless.

About last night.
Happy days.

25th of May. The day we turned on the AC.
Took me two whole days to get my home setup up and running again. It works now!
Fucking hell, this is some kind of different shit, I have to set up everything from scratch because TWO of my backups aren’t really working. What a pain in the ass. I’m actually ditching most of the HA goodies and going back into Home.app for whatever I can. Just because it worked …
Why I’ve connected new HDD to dietpi setup? Because of magic my setup just blew up, I’ve got backups, but it’s 1:30 AM and I can’t turn my lights off. Holy fuck this is my smart home nightmare.
I think I might enjoy using iPad Pro as my mobile computing device of choice but there’s no way in hell I’m buying that with my own money.
Bought myself next HDD for my Plex library. +2 TB it is.

Dear diary, today my Sonos just blew up and I had to reconnect everything. Apart from that Aqara cameras were disappearing every couple minutes from home app but I did unfuck that as well. Today was a good day.
I know what I said about having Arc on Windows but it’s also the buggiest and slowest browser I’ve ever used.
I adore it when my Aqara camera randomly disconnects from HomeKit, forcing me to re-bind it to the system. It’s moments like these that truly make me appreciate the dependability of these cameras. Fucking hell…
Bought myself an app called Tusks that basically makes writing threads/longposts on Mastodon really easy. If you’re into that - highly recommended. I’m currently in micro.blog-first scenario but I see myself leaving everything and moving to my own Mastodon server, so having Tusks …
After getting Arc Sync on Windows (with all the cool stuff like extensions and favorites), I’m totally hooked on Arc. It’s smooth sailing on my Mac and iOS, and not too shabby on Windows either. No other browser syncs tabs, and as someone who switches between Mac and Windows, I need that …

No but this is something different. I didn’t know that anything like this was even possible.
Yesterday was a good day.
Yeah but Arc just dropped Sidebar Sync for Mobile too and now it just makes sense to use Arc because - apparently - it’s the only browser that keeps whatever tabs you have open between devices and operating systems. Bonkers.
Dear diary, today I’ve used ChatGPT to create backup scripts for my dietpi setup and they do work.
I have an itch to create an app. A Mastodon client. I’m gonna start fresh either way but I’m wondering on which platform should I start. I’m using iPhone everyday but I’m thinking about moving to Android sometime soon and there isn’t anything for Mastodon that I’d like to use so I might as well try …
April 2024.
I spent a couple hours during the weekend looking at my read-it-later queue and I’ve found out two things: I’ve saved LOTS of articles during the pandemic, about the pandemic, that are irrelevant four years later. And most of the stuff that I’ve saved pre-pandemic is not relevant …
I am rethinking my RSS reading and read-it-later reading flow and I think I’d like to move to Readwise but paying $100 per year to read my stuff is CRAZY. Plain crazy. Currently it costs me nothing, so I think it’s not going to happen.
My existence largely revolves around transferring my saved bookmarks from one browser to another and from one read-it-later service to another. Rinse and repeat.
After two months of being on windows I’m starting to think about installing / at least virtualising Linux alongside Windows. Mostly because of all of this Windows related bloatware. I’m worried about games because I love playing games, so that’s why I’m thinking of virtualising Linux. I’ve got …

First emulators are coming to iOS! iGBA is available but please don’t download it yet since it’s stolen code from an open source code with added ads and tracking. But other than that - it works if you want it to (and plays games perfectly fine).
My blogs folder on freshrss is the only one that goes bonkers because bloggers are the only people that will mess with their blogs and - for example - re-release all of their 1000s notes to RSS.
I was grandfathered into some kind of Day One Plus (that basically gives me everything that Premium does apart from custom icons and ability to add more than 10 pics and attaching videos) and finally pulled the trigger to get into Day One Premium. After 113 days I think I’m hooked.
Oh, look! The best shoes are currently on sale, highly recommended. These are THE ONLY shoes I’m purchasing. I’ve had the green ones for 4 years now and just acquired new ones, retiring the old pair.
Is there this big Android community just as big as there is Apple community? I’d like to follow more people from Android world to see new apps and stuff like that.
Coincidentally, I’ve managed to save up some spare change that would enable me to make the purchase today and get the Pixel 8, but I’m choosing to be patient and wait for the Pixel 8a. May 10-ish can’t come soon enough.

Yesterday I’ve connected most of the things I was able to connect to Home Assistant without the dongle. Even though not much has changed I’ve grouped all of the lights in each room so now I have buttons to turn on/off lights in each room individually quite easily!
My drafts are wild - this is what welcomed me when I wanted to post a thing today.
I pulled the trigger last night and purchased a dongle for Home Assistant, which enables me to connect directly with Thread/Matter/Zigbee, along with a very affordable Zigbee-enabled sensor. I believe this signifies my transition from Apple HomeKit to a more platform-agnostic system. I’m here …

My work is not physically demanding (hey, I sit at the computer for 8 hours), but the first thing that starts to suffer is my voice. After a few hours of meetings, by the end of the day, my voice always gives out.
The only way I feel comfortable using my large phone (14 Plus) is with the dbrand grip case. It’s extremely grippy and sturdy, so even if I drop it, I’m confident it will withstand the impact.
I contemplated on smaller iPhone test but I cannot. SE can’t use two esims at the same time and my personal & work sim cards are esims. Bummer! I liked the idea of a really, really small phone again.
Got my wife’s SE (2 gen) and I’m thinking of an experiment of using a smaller phone (than my 14 Plus). I’m definitely going to miss my big phone camera and keyboard but I’m really considering going all in.

Windows might make me more open to giving Android another try, but there’s no comparable alternative to the Apple Watch on Android, which is a downside (especially since I’m now actively engaged in sports and rely on these fitness tracking features).
Windows on my PC is working great. I love that I am able to play games in my spare time, but what I love the most is that I’ve got LOTS and LOTS of CPU and RAM to use. I can open every single thing I want to have opened, and there are literally zero issues. In terms of a mental shift, I …

Here’s for another year of Fastmail!
The only good thing is that it all happened BEFORE I’ve started moving her off Fastmail to gmail, so there’s literally nothing to do.
Remember my all-gmail thingy from two weeks ago? Just reverted everything to Fastmail because my wife likes it too much (I do too, honestly). Oh well.

A reasonable thing to do is to keep my iPhone as long as possible, observe what’s happening between Apple and Google and then decide what phone should I get.
I can’t stop thinking about getting a Pixel phone. Honestly this might be it, I might pull the trigger.

In a motion to tighten our budget I think I’m gonna move us from Fastmail to gmail with forwardemail.net to use our custom domains. $3 per month instead of $10 is a welcome change. And I don’t care about email that much (I only care to use my own domain and not gmail’s).

Also I think I want to host Yunohost for me and wifey. But not on local machine, but some kind of VPS. It would be nice to be able to connect from everywhere to it, have an option to sync with it and have control of my own data. Might give it a shot quite soon!
That extension for Torn and no split-view is something that’s keeping me off using Safari only. I wonder also how good Google Meet is going to work on Safari, I’m gonna try tomorrow and maybe - just maybe - there’s still hope for it!
Thinking of just going all in Safari to give it a fair shot. You know - with all these filters, etc. I think extensions will work better on Safari (but there are fewer of them and there isn’t any for the browser game I play!).

On one hand it’s easier to go full-Apple with iMessage, Safari, Apple Music, etc. But on the other - I’m not convinced that everything that Apple delivers is always working. iOS/macOS is the best platform… to run 3rd party apps for everything.

I love Spendee and I use it everyday with my wife but the reason I’m gonna leave them (and stop paying money which I AM!) is because those fuckers are sending me notifications and showing pop-ups in the app to buy premium. It’s so annoying!
We are gonna talk about going back to Spotify though when they introduce this high quality plan, because there’s literally no way in hell I’m coming back to Spotify after listening to everything in lossless (inb4 - yes, I do have equipment to really enjoy it and I do hear the …
Wifey wanted to get back to Spotify because algorithmic playlists AND user-generated playlists are much better than on Apple Music but then getting rid of Apple One just literally doesn’t make sense when we want to use Apple TV+. This is how they get you.
Not exactly Warsaw during the night but definitely Warsaw during the evening.
I know, I said something about moving to Wordpress from micro.blog but honestly Wordpress isn’t even close in terms of how easy and usable it is.
Saw someone ask a question why is Signal better than Telegram, found this reddit thread and someone did a great job with a summary. If it ever gets deleted, here’s a copy: Nothing is stored on Signal's servers, all data lives on your own device(s) and only you hold the encryption keys; …
A test thing.

Bought new winter jacket and I’m actually amazed that such light and thin jacket is going to keep me warm in Polish winter temperatures (-10°C in a worst case scenario).
Dbrand’s grip is still the best iPhone case ever made and unfortunately nothing can change my mind.
This is what I call - good shit.
Elon Musk is considering taking Twitter out of Europe amid EU compliance investigation At this I’m pretty sure everone would be glad to get rid of it.
Saw a blog post (sorry, can’t find whom was it) about making mail.app basically work like Sparrow app worked once before and honestly this minimal look with only mail list works for me, highly recommended to check if that works with your brain too.
One of these days when I need not one but two ADHD pills to even function properly. I don’t even want to think what past me, without meds and diagnose would do. Cry and run around probably.
Only thing that sucks is how hard it is to move all of my blogposts with photos from micro.blog to Wordpress. I think at the end I’m just gonna manually move all of them. One evening and I’m done, I think.
Honestly I’ve even already set up this new blog (this address ROCKS, pawel.orzech.me? how much better it actually can get?) but it’s going to be empty for a while. Just wanted to get everything in place and test how shit works because I haven’t used Wordpress in a very long time …
At the end of my micro.blog sub I’m gonna probably move to selfhosted Wordpress since ActivityPub got that nice support (with Mastodon apps!).
✨ One more!
✨ Just doing stuff!
Of course - we bought printer a couple years ago, used it a few times and when it’s really needed there is no ink. Of course.
I voted! 🤙🏻
It’s one of only few YouTube videos that deliver exactly what they have in the title. Horse kicks tree, farts on dogs then runs away. www.youtube.com/watch
I wonder if renting stuff out instead of owning it is a good idea. For example phone - I’d just be paying subscription to have one and then each year I’d be getting new one without thinking what to do with the old one. I’m really not opposed to that.
Oh wow, Bing really IS better than Google. I mean - Kagi is better than both of these but I ain’t gonna pay 10 bucks to search the world wide web. (or am I?)
If this Spotify Superpremium is going to cost ~60-75pln for family of six I’m gonna leave apple music and get this, add my mom and my dad and just live happily ever after.
The workplace trend involves showing up at the office, grabbing a coffee, and then leaving to complete the workday somewhere else. Employees collect a metaphorical “badge” for visiting the office, even if it’s only for a few hours. - source 😂😂😂

iPhone SE 4 Details: Action Button, USB-C Port, Face ID, and More Basically iPhone 14 with usb-c. I’m all for it and actually I’ll be inclined to “downgrade” from 14 Plus to it. And if they keep price so low this will be a no-brainer.
Had to restore forum from backup yesterday because my previous nginx configuration messed up with let’s encrypt and it was just easier and quicker to boot up another machine and restore it from backup. Anyway, here’s my face after 2 hours of “just gonna update Discourse quickly and …
Also after moving to mostly one-desk-to-do-it-all setup I think Mac Mini IN ADDITION to my current M1 Air isn’t that bad idea? Beefing it up a bit and it could be much better setup but I would still be able to move between places with Air. All these ideas are great until money becomes a topic.
I hope Apple is going to refresh iMacs and Mac Minis to M2/M3 quite quickly because yo boy here is on the market to maybe pull the trigger somewhere there.
I’ve grown to love this watchface.
I am Apple Music user, love the quality, I have my fav playlists there. BUT because I’m YT Premium subscriber I’ve got an access to YouTube Music. It’s not the highest quality, of course, but it does work fine and in the web browser it actually works thousand times better than AM …
This is definitely going to be a tricky one, but… is there an easy way (or cheap way) to move all of my #homekit onto something less iOS exclusive? If one would, like, want to get an #Android phone, then what would that one be able to do about current smart home? #smarthome
I wish it was easier to move to Pixel. I’d love to hop on that blue Pixel Pro train.
Just when I wanted to leave Arc and use something like Vivaldi, Arc is doing something cool again.
I wanted to actually think about starting Lemmy instance but honestly all of this content moderation made me instantly regret it. I think it would be fun to host it as in technical part of things, but all of the rest is definitely not fun.
Autostadt is still pretty fine.
Bird(s)!
WiFiman is just great tool. Everytime I’m outside and need to do something on local machines I’m thanking myself for picking Ubi Dream Machine as router because it’s just so easy to do stuff there! And no-configuration VPN is perfect.
Couple shots from Germany.
Food in Germany isn’t that bad.
I love how many these prominent CEOs have Signal installed. I mean if they use it to talk - and they do have lots to keep private because that would bury them - then I feel better about it. Signal is great.
Also - obligatory - fuck smoking. If you’re cigarette enthusiast, stop, live better life.
If someone asked me how this time meeting dad would be interesting I wouldn’t say “he woke up from two week’s coma” but here we are. He woke up and he’s getting better. Fuck, these last two weeks weren’t really my cup of tea.
I wish Arc Browser wasn’t heating up my mac to 50-60*C just because it’s opened. It’s not sustainable. Especially when if I’m using Safari, these temperatures are 50% lower. Safari it is I guess? Or is there anything that’s light on energy/battery/temperature that …
I fear that missing fan in MacBook Air is actually going to bite me in the ass quite soon therefore I’m unfortunately looking at new macs. First of all - are M1 Pro 14 cool or not? Also worth waiting for cheaper MacBook Pro in October/November?
OMG, honestly, this ability to add websites as apps on macOS is awesome. Having an app for Fastmail which basically is website + icon badges, Mastodon website or even forum.yeswas.pl is just crazy and I love it!
I love how suddenly cases for a year old phone became much, much cheaper.
Sonoming my way around. Really a fan of these widgets on desktop thing.
Pizza with chillis and honey. Gamechanger. I can’t untaste it! It’s great.
Don’t quote me on this but seems like it works… fine?
Because obviously I hate myself I’ve upgraded to MacOS Sonoma already. It’s coming out on Monday, what could go wrong… Safari stuff though was worth it, for reals. It’s just great having these separate profiles >on Safari<.
I’d get that new iPhone but I really don’t need it. Being (becoming) responsible is weird
Playing Baldur’s Gate 3 with friends and it’s great so far (we had to slaughter everyone in one city but other than that I’d say we are doing ok) and found out today that Pillars of Eternity Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch got discounted 75%. I guess there’s nothing I …
Mastodon gets better search, onboarding, and cross-server interactions New Mastodon is actually, really, really, really, really good. Great starting point for new mastonauts.
Also - yesterday me and two of my folks went into a MTG community event. Honestly it was great! There was about 10 of us, we played two pretty long games and I loved it!
It’s finally Friday and - for real - this was one of these really long weeks.
Some sorts of golden hour thing?
Pretty lights!
Same building, feels like both colour and bw work here.
😴 Woke up at 5 am this morning. I’m ready to go to sleep now.
And apparently this one is rather unique and pricey? Looked pretty beat up but still very nice.
Went for a walk with wifey and found a few cool looking cars!
This was really the greatest product presentation ever.
Went on a walk with wifey yesterday.

Yeah, about that fix for iMessage - got logged out, nothing works anymore even with that privacy setting turned off. This is such a bullshit. I’m really glad that I don’t need to use iMessage on a daily basis.
So first book about photography is really entry level. Nothing new unfortunately but if someone’s starting with getting into photography it’s nicely written and there are lots of examples. The second one about portraits though is good. Interesting. I learned new stuff and saw good pics. Overall - …
I’m gonna ready it and if I’m not going to be a great photographer afterwards I’m gonna be pissed.
This one little setting made it IMPOSSIBLE for me to sign in into iMessages. Literally couldn’t figure it out for like two weeks and after randomly checking it off, iMessage logged in, synced all of my messages. Ugh.
Obviously new iPhones are the best ones yet, but holy molly, usb-c might be the only really interesting thing and I don’t really care that much*. Times are changing, my wallet is being grateful! cameras are also cool, but I got proper compact camera and you can’t beat that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I like this type of getting old - I didn’t notice that there’s an Apple Keynote happening today and scheduled a meeting with friends. I’m fine, literally couldn’t care less about keynote happening. Getting rid of the fomo is good.
Well actually if apple would show new iMac with M2 Pro or M3 or whatever with like 32GB+ RAM then I’d be interested.
September is pretty fine so far in terms of temperatures
Mac - state of the desktop.
Crazy how good is to have Allegro Smart. At this point it already paid for itself like couple hundred times.
Omg.lol just got it’s matrix server and I’m convinced. So if you’d like to get in touch via matrix with me, I’m @pawel:omg.lol from now on.

Living that iOS 17 life like there’s no tomorrow (for my phone)
Saturdays are for contact book cleanup with moving contacts to proper accounts so work people won’t show in my messages after work hours 🤙🏻
Jumping on that beta train just before release isn’t as crazy I think. I’ve installed beta just to get that better keyboard honestly and so far has been worth it. Besides that I can’t really see much changes?
YOLO.
Funny thing that has changed in me - I’m not even remotely interested in iPhone Pro this year. First of all - this is my wife’s year for a new iPhone and we are not gonna spend that much money for a pro. And it’s honestly refreshing - not going after the mostest bestest one, but …

No but wait, Twilight is actually great if you think about it. It’s so dumb we can’t stop watching it.
Changed blog’s domain to pnut.pl back cause Orzech.me is going to be remade into more professional thing for my wife and me. As in directory of us in professional space.
COVID is a bitch, unfortunately. Tests are negative, but everything else tells me it’s it. Took me 3,5 years to get one!
Just found out that it’s already been two years since I’ve bough SIM card for iPad Air and because of that, for 29 pln (roughly $7) I’ve got 180GB of 5G data. 180GB, $7. Polish internet prices are just awesome.
iPhone 14 Plus - 6,5h of screen on time and still 54% of battery left. This is unbelievable.
Adding sound system was the right idea too at one point. HomePods and Sonos are right combination. It sucks to have multiple smart speakers in the same rooms but if you can - it’s just the easiest way. We treat HomePods (minis!) as Siri interface only. Sonos as TV + music system is unbeatable.
And because we are humans and we like to click buttons, there are buttons! One button in the bed frame to turn everything into sleep mode, control panel with 6 buttons in pairs to control temperature, blinds and lights. It became so natural that I really miss it when away from home.
I mean - house lights up at exactly right moment, voice assistant (Siri) isn’t that bad, home tries to always keep just right temperature and blinds are giving exact light to privacy (or sun blockage!) ratio that we like. It’s just amazing how it works when it works without an issue.
I don’t feel like doing new smart-home stuff after my adventure of setting up heating, lights, security system in place. Had it automated for a long time and everything feels perfect. I’m really glad that I did what I did back then because it’s just effortlessly seamless for both of us.
Dawid Podsiadło @ Stadion Narodowy.
Maybe, finally, this is the time they’re gonna get him?

I wish Apple’s mail.app wouldn’t just make my mac hot-af whenever I’m trying to use it. It’s the only app that makes mac unbearable hot and literally unusable. Tried #Thunderbird and #Mailmate but both of these lack conversation view like in gmail/mail.app.
Sunday.
I love pixelfed and mastodon but I’d be really happy if there was one app that would switch between being mastodon app and pixelfed reading app. So I can read timeline like in Ivory and then with one switch just watch media like in Vernissage.
Went to a wedding yesterday, didn’t drink alcohol and woke up today fresh as ever. Who would have thought?
Love it.
I like playing paper Magic with my friends.
There’s 9°C difference between outside and inside in case of living room because of AC. Bonkers how hot it is.
Glad to have an experience of hearing Alt-j live. My inner 16 is having the time of his life!
Looking at my menubar I think I need to download that Vanilla or Bartender…
What the actual fuck Sony, really? You can’t have a captcha or whatever? I have do counting to log in to spend my money?
Never change, mail App.
I was able to function until very late for the past couple of days, but tomorrow I’ve got to be up and ready in the morning, so this time I’m trying to go back to sleep but also still trying to get in these another couple minutes.
Yeah, regarding that last SigmaOS post - there’s no way in hell I’m gonna pay for a browser. Like, really, no way. Even if everything else is paid, Safari is going to be free and going strong. So Arc stays, bye bye to SigmaOS. That was a quick one.
Just found out about SigmaOS - it’s a different approach to browser, just like Arc. Testing it out because it looks… nice? Also it’s much faster than Arc is!
Gluon for micro.blog got updated and somehow is now thousand times faster when it comes to loading timeline. Great stuff!
Is there an app to use with #TheMovieDB? One that supports rating? #TMDB
Today is one of these days. Started about seven different things and accomplished none. Slightly irritating but whatever, I’d be more pissed if I HAD to do a thing. Thankfully these were missions assigned by myself.
Got new scans back.
Oh, maybe SimpleX could be the private, secure AND anonymous text messaging platform that Signal still isn’t? If needed - it me: me
I think this is a photo that looks better with a white border. So here it is with a white border.
Just testing a thing and seeing if this get cross-posted to these four services.

If it feels like Greece, looks like Greece and is warm like in Greece, isn’t it Greece? It isn’t. It’s actually in the middle of Poland.
Listening to one of the last Cortex episodes and I think I’m past their thought experiments. There’s definitely something about me getting diagnosed that results in not actually care anymore about being more productive. I don’t care anymore and actually never been happier!
I’d like to get a Google pixel phone please thank you
I think this might be something I’d enjoy.
Apparently I’ve got lots and lots of emails? (Na, this is definitely a bug)
Moved Xbox and PS5 back to the office. Figured out that if I’m gonna play a game it’s definitely gonna be easier when I can see letters on the TV (and because my sight isn’t great it’s the close, office TV, not big, far TV-TV).
Why, yes, I do enjoy my new camera.
Never seen this before, find my drained 100% of my battery. Weird.

Yea, I’d say we are gonna be good friends with this camera.
These are straight from the camera. I’m impressed.

Couple days ago I’ve talked about getting that Canon G5X Mark II. Long story short it’s going to be here tomorrow and I’m ready for it!

You know what? After a couple of hours I think I’d rate Barbie ★★★☆☆. It just isn’t as fun and as cool. It was a bit shallow, funny but shallow. And I know what it wanted to do, but I don’t think it was good at doing that. It wasn’t bad movie! Don’t get me wrong. It …

I heard from my wife, recently, that she really likes how our email system works - being based on Fastmail, it’s apps, web based interface, domains, integration with 1Password… This is something that nerd husbands like me love to hear.
Thinking about getting Canon G5X Mark II as my point & shoot since my “normal” camera is getting pretty big with all these additional lenses and this #Canon could just get into my pocket and be with me more often. Any big cons I should be aware of? #G5XMarkII
Melon Musk is destroying Twitter and its legacy and what amazes me is the thought process of getting rid of the brand that made to verb. Tweeting was once a world phenomenon and now he’s changing all of it to become generic X social media. He’s doing great on path to burn 44 bil! Happy …

🎵 Austin - Post Malone No opinions on it yet, but judging on three singles - it’s gonna be amazing. Post Malone is doing great music, I’ve become very fond of him in the last couple of years. Hope he is fine, I’d like to observe and experience his music for a very long time.
It’s our first marriage anniversary, and we’re meeting people who don’t know us as an unmarried couple. Interestingly, they’ve never seen us unmarried, and in their minds, we’ve always been married. Funny!
Mastodon talk: I like Ivory, but not really fan of another subscription service. I’ve found Mammoth and this is basically oficial Twitter client but built for Mastodon. Pretty sure that’s not everyone’s cup of tea but this really works fine! Also they have “for you” …
Akiflow has been moved up to the first page of apps. And Things (as a backup) went to the second. Exciting times when I’m changing task managers!
Finishing second month of #ADHD medication. It’s weird that I’ve managed to exist for the past 30 years without it and now I can’t think of a day when I won’t take them. Pure bliss, focus and calmness. If you’re on the verge of taking them - do it, life can be much …
Also - Bose QC45 are just fucking amazing. No way around that. Just a great pair of headphones, with great sound and awesome noise cancelling. Because of my autism I’m pretty sensitive to loud sounds, so these are with me pretty much always (and if not - I have Loop Quiet in my pocket).
Oppenheimer in IMAX was pretty cool, but apart from the bigger screen - everything else in IMAX is making me sad. I’m not even enjoying this sound, because it was so loud that my wife & I had to wear headphones to lower down the volume.

Earth shatters heat records, faces uncharted extreme weather - The Washington Post (…) the planet experiencing its warmest June ever charted, according to new data. And then, on Monday, came Earth’s hottest day in at least 125,000 years. Tuesday was hotter. I’d say we’re fucked.

Also Arc Browser works great on my 4k screen, but going down just to macbook’s screen is so painful.
Arc Browser is becoming more and more sluggish even though they said they are gonna work on its performance. Considering switch to Safari (personal) + Chrome (work) because of it.
Yeah, not sure about that, but I’ll take that as a compliment I guess?
Also I spent another 6 hours in Zelda:ToTK - it’s such a masterpiece. 75% of that time was just doing shrines and stuff like that and then 25% - finally pushed the main story forward and did the first phenomena. It’s so cool!
Today and tomorrow me & my best mates are having semi-holidays. One of us has an empty flat that we furnished with our own gaming devices (monitors, TV’s, consoles, etc.) and we spend the ENTIRE DAY playing games and having fun. I feel really blessed that we are able to do it and …

Any good iOS and MacOS apps that support chatgpt 4 api? Petey/GeePeeTee unfortunately doesn’t.
Thanks, I would like my right to privacy more than having an access to another Facebook’s services though. I knew Gruber was doing more and more bad takes recently, but he’s just becoming unreadable.
That’s bonkers.

I was wondering why Threads weren’t available in Poland but apparently that’s be design. Actually the entire EU will be excluded from Threads.
Looking for a Notes app with AI support that’s not Notion. Anyone have any ideas? I’m on macOS and iOS, so it would be cool if it would run on both. Notion is just to messy overall for me - i don’t think like Notion system does.
By pure accident I’ve found myself in the dark bathroom, with a camera and portable light. New profile picture appeared!

This Friday I’m decommissioning Calckey.pl and social.yeswas.pl. Long live wspanialy.eu! Can’t wait to cut these two servers and media storages, my bills are gonna be smaller by 70%.
Finally found some time to put my new home-server together and I’m really impressed with how much SSD’s are making everything quicker. New era of self-hosting I guess?
Ok, go back to sleep grandpa. Also another reason why you shouldn’t be using Twitter anymore.
Company retreat - so far, so good! Also - no alcohol is becoming a thing and I’m a fan of that, definitely.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Great show!
Just finished second season of Succession. Holy fuck.
ADHD meds are cool and stuff but unfortunately having heart at 140BPM is not something I’m fan of. Damn.
Two months - this is how long it took me from being Calckey fan to being a doubter. It’s just too unstable - both in terms of official server performance and software that runs on it.

Installing Yunohost on machine without access to the internets is so painful I retreated to DietPi. My RPi400 works on it for a very long time, so why mess with perfection?
Not only prices of everything are going up (hi there, Netflix) but those big entities are closing themselves (hi reddit). Selfhosting is the way forward then - just got my HP T630 and I’m gonna selfhost the entire internets.

Because of some catholic thingy it’s a bank holiday here in Poland, so I took my time to drink coffee and unsubscribe from like thousand of newsletters that somehow got into my inbox. Arc Browser with this small pop-up window makes unsubscribing so quick!
ADHD meds have some additional benefits! I’m not only able to focus, but I’ve also lost interest in high-dopamine foods like sweets, fast-food or even soft drinks. That’s good, already lost a bit weight because of that.
Another Calckey-related rant: two RC’s in 24h because there’s not enough QA done. I was Calckey fan, now it’s just annoying to comply with how this project is being managed. Ugh. And last stable release has long-standing bug that just freezes THE WHOLE instance every couple of …

You’re drinking coffee because you want to wake up in the morning, I drink coffee because I don’t use meds for my ADHD and this is one of the easiest and quickest ways to get myself to focus on stuff. We are not the same (or we are, not sure who is reading that).
Had a minor medical procedure done on Friday and not there yet. It was the closest I was to the real operation and not really a fan, honestly. I’m gonna be fine, but last couple of days were a bit painful.
Mallorca 2023: Just got our newest rolls back - so photos from trip to Mallorca and a couple of days before it, so I can now photo-dump my blog and show you some of the coolest shots I’ve got! So - before even going to Spain, first we have to go to my mums for a second and grab some of THE BEST Polish food …
About last night.
This is bonkers - MTG: Arena is supported on Mac via Epic Store and it’s unavailable for Mac on Steam. I didn’t expect much from Wizards of the Coast but this is really uncool.
🌆
One more :)
Sunday
It’s nice.
Not from today, but it will hopefully be like this tomorrow!
I’m gonna stay on micro.blog but I think Calckey is overall better than Mastodon. To each they own, of course, but for me - Calckey just feels better.
I’m jumping around with cases on my phone and going from no case to leather case to dbrand’s grip and I know I’m gonna probably regret it one day but going with leather case because it just feels so good that my autism is doing brrrr (in a good way!).
But back to the going out of the walled garden - I’d love to be able to do it. Just so we aren’t as dependent on what Apple is doing as we are now. On other hand - only Apple is being serious with their smart home division, because Google’s Home app is just plain bad.
Just saw the announcement of new Echo Pop speaker. In - Apple only - household I’d be pretty keen to jump over to a different ecosystem if they would finally bring support for Polish. Siri is a teenager and still can’t speak Polish. Bummer.
#Zelda is great. Just wanted to say that. I’m enjoying it very much and there’s always something cool to do even when you’re not progressing main story.
#Warsaw was pretty today!
Homescreen, May 2023.
New #Zelda is also great. I had a chance to play BOTW these six years ago but it didn’t stick. I grabbed physical copy of new one to just try it out and boy oh boy I’m having fun. I haven’t tackled the main quests a lot yet, but getting there!
Upgraded calckey.pl server a bit today - basically doubled its parameters. So it’s now on 4 vCPU, 8GB of ram and 80GB of SSD and I have to say that it works great. I mean, it’s probably going to be slow again after reaching 100-120 active accounts, but it’s good for now!
Yeah let’s do it
Thank you the cache gods for the blessing of the free storage
My phone had like 60GB of cache (system data on iPhone) and finally, after me not doing a thing just waiting over TWO MONTHS - it got emptied. I’ve finally got over 60GB of internal storage on my phone back!
Doggo.
🦆
I meant this part of evening. Grass was just looking funky.
Evenings are prettier and prettier everyday.
First day after two-weeks holidays wasn’t so bad. I mean there was fire, obviously, but not like being in hell fire. Good, happy to see that!
Gave another shot at fixing issues with S3 on forum.yeswas.pl but failed miserably again. #Discourse sometimes is just soooo painful…
Tried - once again - using Spotify for audio at home but Apple Music with lossless is just too good to pass on. #IThinkIveSaidItBefore
Wifey made shortbreads for the coronation and I have to say that they’re the best part of it.
I love UK, I’ve lived there for some time but every time I see something about monarchy I’m just upset. We are watching coronation right now and the only way to describe it would be “bizzare”.
Wifey took a photo of me and I look like I had some business to do. I like it.
That Calckey instance I was talking about since Thursday or whatever - is already on the server list at Calckey.org!
Boarding a plane might be my most hated thing because of its inefficiency.
Federation is hard - said by me after 12 hours of trying to work out why some instances see and some don’t see Calckey.pl instance. Eh. #EDIT 6 hours later: everything works at least semi-fine.
Calckey.pl is up, Polish instance of Calckey, for free, for everyone. Because apparently I had too much time on my hands!
Social network not supporting RSS out of the box is kind of pointless to me now (cough bluesky cough)
In terms of food - we are fine.
Got new domain - calckey.pl. There’s nothing there but I wonder, what should I host on that domain, hmmmm…
I’ve started to really like Safari’s tab groups.
Got invited to Bluesky and first thing I did was to connect micro.blog to it, so with my every post on my blog, it gets automatically propagated on Mastodon and now - Bluesky. Btw, I’m here: Paweł Orzech on Bluesky
Also - for the first time in 9 years we’ve made a break in podcast and I have to say - not thinking about it, the freedom of not having to plan it - it was refreshing. I’m glad I’m gonna be back on it soon, but I think it’s healthy to do breaks more often than every 9 years.
Spain “works” for me in terms of how calm, beautiful, chilled out and simple can it be. It doesn’t mean that we are gonna buy a property here, but it’s not like we didn’t talk about it! Wifey didn’t say no, so that’s a start:)
No further comments
The day I said I’m gonna probably die without ever tasting a mussel, I did have a mussel. It wasn’t good, but glad I had it!
Spain treat us well.
That’s why you shouldn’t use social media networks that are centralised and controlled by one, single entity. Because Twitter’s fuckeroo IS going to happen again somewhere.
It’s unbelievable how beautiful Mallorca is. I haven’t been this in love in a city in a very long time.
Pulled the trigger - now everyone is following my main account @pawel@orzech.me which is my micro.blog. Cool!
Dropbox CEO Drew Houston says the change is ‘necessary’ to ensure the company is at the ‘forefront of the AI era.’ Isn’t Dropbox an app that syncs a folder between Web and other devices? AI? U mad?
I was always afraid of holiday trips as in we go on a trip from town to town (#autism) but holy shit isn’t this so much fun. My brain is actively sabotaging itself but every single experience so far was nothing but positive and worthwhile.
Just unbelievable how amazing it is here. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna try and convince my wife to buy a property here because honestly it’s just too perfect.
Prepared myself for moving onto micro.blog a bit more - now my Mastodon-compatible username is @pawel@orzech.me for my blog, so when I’m gonna make a switch, it’s going to look great on your timelines!
They do look old though as in I’d look twenty or more years older than I am. Sucks to be me I guess.
Or if my Apple Watch battery is dying, I should get a normal, proper watch? I always wanted to roll an Omega or Rolex and this might be my chance? It would suck to live without my Apple Watch health alerts etc, but I wouldn’t have to worry about battery ever again. Tough decisions ahead!
We have found a chicken today. 🤷♂️
Even though im curious of Bluesky and how it works, there’s no chance in hell I’m gonna move from my blog or Mastodon. Times of billionaire owned social networks are over for me.
Current status.
I love when Apple Watch just decides to die
I wish Ivory would group notifications like Mona does.
It took me nearly 1,5 hours but I’ve successfully moved social.yeswas.pl to a new, twice as fast, machine. It’s gonna also be 50% cheaper, so that’s great! Now I only need to move forum.yeswas.pl to new server in the next two months.
I’ve asked #ChatGPT to write me a detailed plan for migrating my own Mastodon instance from one machine to another and this is what it came up with. I’m not sure if it’s gonna work, but for sure I’m gonna try it.
Forest.
I think I’m gonna migrate all of you - my dear followers - into my micro.blog account. Then each response would be a comment on a blog, each post could unfold into great discussion in the comments and overall I think it would be easier to use. Too late in the evening to make a switch, but …
Also - I didn’t want to do any web admin stuff for a long time now and I suddenly feel the urge to ~do stuff~. I’m not gonna cause it’s late and eyes are already sore, but boy oh boy, the next few days are gonna be interesting. I might finally move everything to it’s new …
First order of being off-business for a couple of weeks - disconnected the big mac screen. Now I’m using only laptop’s screen and it does trick brain into being off work already!
🏖️ Two weeks of sweet nothing.

#Warsaw is becoming very pretty, very quickly!
Google Calendar removing Google Meet by default made the whole product thousand times less convenient.
I’ve learned to drink coffee with oat milk. It’s actually pretty decent, yet another step in being animal-free in terms of food!
Yesterday I’ve nearly moved social.yeswas.pl to the new server but Mastodon’s docs aren’t really that helpful - there’s nothing about moving lets encrypt and restoring Mastodon from backup. Eh.
Warsaw’s becoming pretty.
Is that an RussiaWatch on our wrist? When you binge TV series, do you watch Ruflix on a Russian TV set, sitting on a sofa made by the world famous furniture company, RUSKEA? Living in Russia is hell 🔗: eastsplaining.substack.com/p/living-…
Today new Post Malone’s single came out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzPQ_jA00bk And I’m very, very happy with it. Can’t wait for the rest of the album, it’s going to be awesome! Also when you’re surprised that Posty can sing as in not rap but singing, check this …
Oh, I understand now, the one I like is Link’s Awakening. It’s really good and playable - even the first version in monochrome. I wish BoTW had pulled me so much, but I just can’t find myself enjoying it. I’ve tried, but apart from sightseeing, everything else I just loathe.
Couple months ago got myself game&watch from Nintendo with Zelda on it. I’ve tried with first two Zelda games but couldn’t stick, and then, the last one seems to be something I’d like to explore. Interesting. Also this device is just the cutest.
I wish micro.blog official app on Mac supported global shortcuts. So I can do CMD+SHIFT+T and create new post window from everywhere. MarsEdit does it but it doesn’t support drag & drop for images (maybe that’s the way to go though and pray for this feature here?)
Oh, yes, this one is really good! 🔗: How to talk to your relatives about Mastodon
About last night?
Got my DNA results back. Seems like I’m pretty ordinary in a really good way, nothing is weird and that’s a good thing to hear!
Ugh, bought couple of these reddit avatars and managed to snag the nyan cat one. I think it’s… fine?
Spent some time yesterday getting Linux up on my old Air so my mom could use it. After failing to install ChromeOS Flex I decided to go with Ubuntu. I think it’s the easiest and most maintained OS I could get on it. Unfortunately MacOS is EOL for Mid 2013 Air, so I had to pick something else.
🍿 Tetris (2023) - ★★★☆☆ It started well but ended on a weird note. Welp.
Two stages of AI usage.
Just wait till Tumblr gets ActivityPub support and the fediverse is going to get wild and weird and I’m here for it. Heck - I might even consider moving to it at some point. Fingers crossed Tumblr!
Pizza Night with wifey 🥰
My old Macbook Air from 2013 is gonna get second life soon. I’m thinking about putting a Chrome OS or Ubuntu on it so my mom could use it as her computer. She’s using really old and end-of-life chromebook so she’s due already. I’m actually looking forward to making it work …
Bose QC45 are coming in on Tuesday. I just can’t stand how uncomfortable AirPods Pro are. I hate when something has to be INSIDE of my ear, no way. Wife’s happy with the upgrade and I’m gonna enjoy that mindblowing ANC.
Bought myself a new camera - Canon Sure Shot Z115 - and I think I’m gonna do a full circle soon. Started with plastic, analog cameras and now getting into higher end ones. Just wait till I get a proper camera and mimic in analog what I can already do in digital.

As an autistic person with ADHD - I’m so happy that I’m able to work remotely using text most of the time. It’s just so much easier for me (even though after all these years I actually don’t mind videoconferences).
Couple years ago I started doing monthly playlists. Nowadays I’m more like a single-yearly-playlist guy because I don’t have enough time to listen to all the music. So if you’d like to follow me on my musical journey this year - follow this playlist.
Hello, it me!
Spotify - just add higher audio quality and we’ll be golden. I’d trade Apple Music for Spotify then in a second.
🍿 See How They Run (2022) - ★★★☆☆ I thought I like movies like that but this one got me really bored
I know I don’t need Steam Deck… I’d like it though. (My Nintendo Switch screams now in not-being-touched-in-a-weeks)
Couple months ago I bought some reddit avatars because I’m sucker for those, obviously, and now apparently I can sell one for $1000. At this time I refuse to comment what the heck.
😍
What works better: two phones - one for normal stuff and other for work, or one phone with two sim cards? Anyone knows from experience?
Froggies.
Apparently #Hipstamatic came back to be the Instagram we all wanted to have but seems to me like I don’t really want to have any type of Instagram? Fingers crossed though! I loved it back the day.
One day Apple Music on Mac will work fast and without any lags, but that day isn’t today. What a piece of garbage.
This is actually impressive
I made an art.
It’s happening!
My therapist once said that you don’t have to be better version of yourself everyday, so I’m gonna trust it and after brief walk to get mcdonalds I’m gonna listen to music and lay on the couch. Cause there’s nothing wrong in it
Woke up to no Internet connection, great start on Monday!
What #ChatGPT app for ios is good and doesn’t cost thousands of dollars per week?
Nice!
Sunday @ Warsaw
Night of updates! Forum updated to Discourse 3.1.0.beta3, social.yeswas.pl updated to Mastodon 4.1.1. Feels_great_man.
This is post number 202. I don’t think I ever had a blog with 202 posts published. Here’s for the next 202!
Disco Elysium is one of a few that I can’t forget, but it’s the only one that I think I’d tattoo quote from. Journey, Life Is Strange and The Witcher are brilliant and one of the greatest experiences I had, but Disco Elysium was something that broke me a little. Highly recommended.
Haha, it only took couple of hours but I feel lighter without it. Brains, am I right?
Gave up on iPad and upgraded my wife’s with my Air. I think I’m gonna be… calmer (?) with only one device with my stuff on it and one device as a companion. Signal vs noise and other semi-inteligent bullshit.

In last six months my daily job became much harder and more demanding that it was before. And even though I’m a bit more stressed because of that - I find myself doing good job. Nothing is burning, there are no flames, nothing is blowing up… I mean, that’s at least fine?!
📺 The Last of Us (2023) - ★★★★★ I would have never played this game, I’m to scarred of playing horrors. But watching it (and being able to fast forward if needed)… damn, that’s a great story and I’m really happy that I’ve got a chance to know it.
Three years of COVID-19 pandemic. May you live in interesting times seems more like a curse now.
🍿 Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) - ★★★★★ Watched it a couple months ago and can’t stop thinking about it. Also it got like thousand Oscars, so apparently I’m not the only one that’s amazed by it!
Got Friendica up and running and I really like how it works. I might even convince my wife to use it!
Hear me out though, safari on Mac is actually fine

🍿 The Imitation Game (2014) - ★★★★★ It lacks a bit of historical information but - once again - I really like this movie and stories like this.
A short story. We once submitted Untitled Goose Game to the Mac App Store. It was rejected by the reviewer because they thought you couldn’t skip the credits. (?!?) We explained that you could skip the credits by holding space. It was then rejected for something else and at that point we just gave …
🍿 Jerry & Marge Go Large (2022) - ★★★★★ I just like stories liked that
I’m still learning how my life changed after reaching 30 and apparently I’m now able to hurt myself by literally laying on the couch. Damn.
Even though I’m not like a computer person, server person, however you call it - I’m still amazed sometimes that I’m managing two proper servers with serious and used services and still didn’t blow up any of them
Just planned out how and when I’m gonna move our Discourse instance and Mastodon instance. Both are gonna have same spec’d servers, Discourse is getting a bit worse, but Mastodon is getting better one. I think it’s gonna take me lots of hours, but it’s going to be worth it in …
Returned to old habit of intentionally looking for new music and I’m very glad I did. This feeling of finding an absolute gem is just something else. Here, listen to it: m.youtube.com/watch

🫠 Melting from overload. This weekend is going to be great, but the next one is going to be perfect.
Castro for podcasts is one of my fav apps, nothing ever was as joyful and pleasant to use as Castro is. It wasn’t updated for a long, long time, and today… It’s alive!
Got a suggestion to re-pair my Apple Watch and it did fix the battery drain issue. Just FYI.
There has to be something wrong with my Apple Watch. This battery usage seems off.
I’m reading Merlin Mann’s Wisdom document everyday finding what works for me and I have found this gem that is very much true: Never argue on the internet. No one will remember whether you won or lost the argument; they’ll just remember that you are the sort of person who argues …
Mastodon is just better than Twitter. It took two months since my birdsite departure to get to this point.
Notes from selfhosting Mastodon instance: with 50 users, a couple of relays, it’s taking more than 50 gigs of space on Backblaze already. Glad that hosting is pennies but if you’re wondering how much space Mastodon could eat - yeah, a lot.
Dbrand Grip Case. If you could have only one case per phone, this is the one I’m recommending and getting myself. Grippy, feels safe and looks pretty fine if you ask me. That thing on the back, the pixel grid, is a sticker so you can have a different one or none at all.
As always, first world’s problem: Spotify’s app is just easier to use and thousand times faster (especially on a Mac), but sound quality (especially on proper sound system like Sonos) is so freaking bad that I immediately miss Apple Music. Being in a pickle is where I am.
Great tool if you'd like to fetch content from RSS feed to Mastodon account: https://mastofeed.org

Just one additional note - I have a keyboard without touchpad and I really miss it. That’s why I’m taking my MX Master with me - because then it feels more like a proper device to do stuff.
I’m not taking my M1 Air with me whenever I’m traveling and I’m settling on bringing iPad Air and honestly it’s been very refreshing. It’s not the same, I can’t do everything on it, but having LTE, great screen and my fav iOS apps is good enough to leave Mac at home.

Sleepy #cat.
Pulled a trigger. Just moved instances - again. This time though from my beloved social.lol to my own, social.yeswas.pl. Nothing is required from you, just please enjoy the flow of ~the content~ into your timeline.
I’m also very fine with using micro.blog apps to post to Mastodon. The only issue is that I’d like to be able to use Ivory on my mac and it’s going to suck when I can’t (I mean, I can, but then it goes just to my Mastodon) post stuff from it.
It has already been a month and a half of me having my own blog, under my own domain, with all of my content being then distributed to “other platforms” (hello Mastodon!). Micro.blog is great!
🏝️ Holidays planned. Can't wait!
😷 "oh, I think I'm getting cold, games it is!" and then I proceed to lay down unable do anything for a couple of days, struggle is real

😒 Being sick on the weekend wasn't on my bingo card but here we are
Oh, to see the sun and ocean again.
🤒 And I can't fall asleep. Great combination.
Fortunately this will be a quick fix - downloading files from S3 to put them onto the server. Not much of a job, mostly watching upload going from 0 to 100% in couple of minutes.
Ok, apparently not everything went as smooth as I’d like it to, but having backups before doing any changes is once again something that saves my ass. Seems to me like Discourse didn’t change links to uploaded data, so when I got rid off /uploads, they are 404ing. Understandable.
Happy to wake up (in general, but also) and caps on B2 are not immediately used. Which means I probably didn’t fuck it up too much in terms of configuration!
Great evening, full of coding and administrative work. I’ve finally moved all of the images from forum.yeswas.pl onto B2’s Backblaze. And I gave Mastodon on my own another go, this time from source and works flawlessly! This is… promissing?
🙈 Or when your plans for the whole weekend are being cancelled and now you have an empty weekend, at home, to do whatever you’d like to. It’s like a gift from an universe. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to do the plans, but this isn’t that bad.
Oh wow.

It’s called iPhone Mount with MagSafe for Mac Notebooks. Not the easiest name to say but accurate.
Got this Belkin thing (thanks Kamil!) to put your phone on your Mac so it acts like a Webcam. First of all - it weights a bit so can easily move screen back - it has to be in a certain spot to works. But when it works… Works like a charm. Quality is excellent.
Hogwarts Legacy is great for a Potterheads. Having lots of fun!
I really like(d?) Telegram so news like these aren’t great to hear. https://www.wired.com/story/the-kremlin-has-entered-the-chat/
New dbrand in the house. I know that it protects the phone really good but I just can’t stop using my leather case. It feels so nice. I’ve got it in case of trip or holidays. Much gripper and feels safer in my hand.
😎 Got all of my medical results back - in these terms I'm doing pretty fine and everything is clear!
I did spend nearly my whole weekend trying to set up a pleroma instance, then mastodon instance for podcast community and failed miserably. I think I’m gonna give it a couple of months and see then if it’s easier. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Just set up a Pleroma instance to figure out if I like it and if it works better than Mastodon was. I might want to try to create a place for podcast’s community on the Fediverse.

🍿 Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) - ★★★☆☆ Not being a fan of an actress that plays Shuri made it hard for me to enjoy her as a Black Panther. Also feels more like a tribute to Chadwik Boseman than a movie, but that’s fine, not what I’ve expected though.
Throwback Saturday I guess?
Got my analog photos back, from the new camera. This shit is good.

😴 Thank god it’s friday already…
🥂 Thursday is the new Friday?
Hot take: I’d like to use an opinionated Mastodon client with algorythmic timeline. No idea how this timeline should work to be useful but I liked being able to see what machine thinks I’d enjoy (and sometimes it even was right!). Easily would pay for it couple bucks monthly.
Starting February 9, we will no longer support free access to the Twitter API, both v2 and v1.1. A paid basic tier will be available instead. — Twitter Dev Twitter is effectively killing every free tool built for it, including autoposters, autoblockers and deleters.
☺️ Better Call Saul with wifey until it's already past bedtime is the best.
At this point so many of you recommended me this one that I don’t need to do more research. It’s coming on Friday and I can’t wait to get the WiFi sorted.
Quick question - I need new router (with AP possibly?). I’ve got 1 gig internet up and down and shitload of smart home accessories. Anything that I should look at?
About last night. #Hamilton

No swimming.
Even though it looks like it - I’m not stealing this peanut from this chunky boi.
Apple’s leather case is actually, for real, second best to no case at all. It’s feels great
😎 Thinking about the weekend. This time we really deserve what's coming on the weekend. Last few days were really, really stressful and demanding, so it's good to see something cool ahead of us.
Homescreen, January 2023.
I’m very glad that Mastodon supports rss so good. I’m following bunch of people, but when I really don’t want to miss a toot, I’m just adding them to my rss reader. Works like a charm!
New case who this
I think I need more RAM to do my email stuff.
Because - of course - I’m impatient - I’m adding more people on my micro.blog account. I’m much more of a fan of their timeline experience.
Always on the edge when it comes to the browser choice. I love Arq but Safari is quicker, has better integration with system (Apple Pay anyone?) and has great mobile version. On the other hand - Arc has extensions, that aren’t ported to Safari (yet, or never will be!).
🟠 Orange-colored lights in the house. New phase of lighting apparently.
🤪 Or when someone cancels the plans so you have now a couple hours that were planned to be used for something else. It's like a gift!
One day I’m gonna come back to the idea of hosting my own Mastodon instance, especially when I’m finding something like that: github.com/cloudflar… It’s too soon yet to do a production-ready stuff on the wildebeest, but it is really interesting!
👨🚒 Today I'm the fireman. I'm trying to extinguish fires.

💤 Can't wait for the weekend to finally sleep for 12 hours without regrets.
🥴 Coming back from holidays is a bit hard. Hard in terms of hitting you with a brick in a face hard.
Being able to just steal a couple of warm days in the January is something else. So grateful to be able to do it!
🌊
Twitter’s actions also show a total lack of respect for the role that third-party apps have played in the development and success of the service from its earliest days. Once again - Twitter under Elon Musk behaves in the worst way possible. Yet another nail in the coffin!
We are using the smallest possible dice for our MagicTheGathering games.
Also don’t get me wrong, this Ivory for Mastodon is great. Really great. But Gluon for micro.blog is better for my brain and I can’t just wait for micro.blog to add mass follow for mastodon! help.micro.blog/t/mass-fo…
Oh, ignorance is bliss - it feels great to not look at the internet for most of the time. Just wanted to have a mental note of it. BRB, going back to that offline for a little bit, once again!
🏝️ Seems to me like a paradise!
Very happy with what’s coming to Micro.blog: help.micro.blog/t/mass-fo… Can’t wait! I’m gonna probably move more of my stuff to my micro.blog account (for those of you reading on the Mastodon, don’t you worry, everything is seamless)!
Bought myself a PowerBank (Baseus with MagSafe). Holy… This MagSafe is really great and I’m so happy to finally experience this whole ecosystem of addons!
Putting my money where my mouth is. Micro.blog is great centre of my own universe right now and I did what I should have done!
I need to find a way to automatically follow everyone using my micro.blog account cause using Gluon is actually more fun than Ivory. Feels less like serious social media and I’m all for it.
📺 Better Call Saul
For the first time ever I’m using 5G on my personal phone. Feels nice. Isn’t much different from my own Wi-Fi, but still - nice to have it!
Couple hours after surgery, she did a teleconference, on video, shown herself, her scar and addressed everyone so everyone knew what’s going on. She’s a beast.
😌 Mom woke up from the surgery, we don't know everything just yet, but it's a good sign. Thank you for crossing your fingers for us. So much stress relieved in a single phone call.
I’ve decided against buying an older phone (13 Pro) and I’m unable to spend that amount of money to get 14 Pro. I wanted to have better battery so 14 Plus it is. My wife is gonna get my 11 Pro (she has SE, so that’s an upgrade). In case of great September I’m still open:)
Yesterday I did a thing. This thing is called iPhone 14 Plus and it’s going to be here tomorrow. Welp.
My mom is going to have a serious medical procedure in the morning, if you can - please keep fingers crossed. I’d really appreciate it.
Exploring new blogs to broaden my bubble is exciting. If you have a #blog - let me know. Brag about it! I want to see and read it.
🎶 Dolby Atmos is darn good.
💔 The Ultimatum on Netflix. I mean - it’s bad but I can’t stop watching it.
🚅 I like trains and this one is actually pretty fine. Also thank god for noise cancelling headphones.
I’ve started journaling for the sake of journaling. My entries look really bad, but even though it’s only a couple of days I already appreciate it. It’s good to be able to reftect on what’s going on without having to obfuscate my feelings.
Snowy evening.
Couple days ago it was nearly 20*C and people were wearing shorts. Today it’s snowing again. The climate is definitely fine and not fucked in any way.
I’m unbelievable happy with my move to micro.blog. So there’s something good that came out from Space Karen!
This is something for my Polish audience.
💆♂️ Hoping that future is even brighter but being prepared for it to actually suck.
Won another battle with my ADHD - I’ve registered for my annual blood tests. It only took TWO MONTHS of seeing this task and moving it for another day.
I need to do something with these icons. It might be too much.
I always thought that I’m gonna have some sensory issues while wearing wedding ring and here we are - I’m rarely even taking it off and I sleep in it.
collabfund.com/blog/100-… Interesting, bookmarked. Cool read.
Because of how Mastodon works with data, it’s unsustainable for me to run my own Mastodon instance. It’s just either getting pricey with S3 or with hosting provider. And I’m already fine with micro.blog and social.lol instance. Bye, bye!
My own (social.Orzech.me) instance of Mastodon is becoming really, really big. Without my input it grew to 8GB of disk space. That’s… not optimistic. Not sure if I’m gonna keep it around then. I might try Pleroma or Misskey instead so it’s a bit lighter on resources?
Untap.in is THE best place to play #MagicTheGathering online with friends. We just had… 7 hour session, online, on two continents, five people. It’s unreal how good it is.
Just for the record, my timeline looks weird because I’ve imported all of my statuses from status.lol. From now on they are gonna be shown on my profile!
🧗 Sometimes this is how it feels to do stuff. I'm doing stuff.
The time of cheap flights is definitely over – said out loud whenever I’m looking at flights to cool holiday destinations.
I left my Hellshite account to rot there (and to prevent anybody to take my username) but I find it very relaxing to go there, unfollow more people and see that people I’m unfollowing aren’t already using Twitter and they’re on Mastodon.
getblogging.org Get Blogging! - I stand by this message (as someone who just recently came back to blogging).
One day #WhatsApp will not take a whole couple of minutes to load. Today was not that day though.
After a walk, spent quite some time in cleaning up my internet services. Most were not needed and redundant. And I think I don’t need this level of redundancy at this point in my life.
TIL: I can follow people from Mastodon on Micro.blog. Delightful!
#TheRoom is something else.
Ok, see you in 2023 soon! Let’s hope this one is better than 2022!
2022
Wow.
Sometimes you just have to. I mean, you can’t be more Polish.
Happy New Year folks. This one was… eventful. Lots of ups and couple of downs, but overall wouldn’t change a thing. Here’s for the next one!
Someone on forum.yeswas.pl (beware, it’s Polish!) recommended this game and unfortunately I have sunk in it. faedine.com/games/cra…
Micro.blog meta: It would be nice if this new post window from mac app could be invoked with some global shortcut. It would make posting much, much easier.
Interesting times when most of my non- apps are from TestFlight.
I’m gonna be so fucked in the morning but I did - from my phone - moved my blog from Wordpress to Micro.blog, added custom domain, configured all of the cross-posts and did basically everything to have this punt.pl be the centre of my universe. Once again. Because I remember how it went like two …
🥱 Ready for The Sleep.
Ok. Everything works. Great! Ready to sleep then. PS. Hello micro.blog!
🥟 I’m ready for Christmas.
🫥 I know it’s only a start but I do hope it’s gonna be fine soon. Also it’s about the weekday ahead.
🥴 It wasn't the best of days.
🥳 Friday.
💤 It was a good day today
🦸 @ work. Doing work things.
🎄 Christmas Tree is up! 🥰
🫠 Workin’
🧑💻 Work, work, work.
💤 Good morning! Not sure if I’m at the energy level of exclamation points, but let’s see
🍰 I think I’ve found the limit. It is time to lay down for a second…
❄️ It’s a snow day today!
👨🏻💻 At work, but I’m gonna weekend hard this weekend. You haven’t seen people so hard weekending as I’m gonna weekend it.
🎧 My Spotify Wrapped 2022 is actually pretty fire (even though I’m not actively using Spotify, I’m more of an Apple Music guy right now)
☕️ Mornin’…
🌚 Chillin’.
⭐️ Finally off for today. Seems to me like it took AGES!
🥴 At least it's friday.
😎 Tooting from Telegram!
🥸 Working hard or hardly working? I'm gonna find out in the next couple of hours!
😅 Hi. Trying to figure out what happens next after Twitter has been bought by Melon Tusk.
